Can't install new Nvidia driver

So i just noticed that nvidia released a new driver (361.91) and now when i try to install it, it says "This driver is not compatible with this version of Windows."

And i have Windows 10 Home.

 

Please help :(

Main: Gigabyte G1 980Ti, i5 6600k, MSI Z170A M5, 16GB DDR4 2666, NZXT H440, NZXT x61, EVGA 750W G2, Windows 10 

 

Second PC: EVGA Reference GTX 680, i7 2700k, 16GB DDR3, Corsair 300R, Corsair CX500W, Windows 10

 

Laptop: Acer Aspire 5750G, GT540M, i7 2630QM, 6GB DDR3, Windows 7

I don't think so. Often it installs windows updates by itself when i turn off my computer.

Just checked and everything is updated.

Question; Do you need this driver update? Are you running the games this driver contains updates for? If not, then don't worry about it. There's nothing to gain and you can always upgrade when the next major driver version releases.

I actually noticed a difference in Fallout 4, though I have been doing other work myself so which it was that caused the improvement is not clear. 

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Yeah, I usually don't bother with the minor driver updates unless there's a fix or update for game(s) I play often.

That's just it, nothing is listed for Fallout 4. So ether they fixed the problem and didn't list it in the notes, or I did with what I found I the ini files. So it might be worth it to keep up to date.

Reverse what you did in the ini files and see if that makes a difference. ;)

What I found is that the poor performance seen in just about every Nvidia card might be related to a discrepancy in the vanilla ini files, not a change made by the user. The shadow resolution used to be 4k(forgot the exact # but have it at home) and will stay 4K after the 1.3 update. After the driver I noticed that the shadow resolution dropped in half to 2k. I found this after deleting the ini files and allowing the game to replace them. I removed all three files. After the ini files replaced themselves I had pre 1.3 performance, I checked and the drop in shadow resolution did not impact quality. Haven't figured out how yet but it's the same quality at a lower resolution. Which would explain the increase in AMD performance and the decrease in Nvidia if shadow resolution basically doubled.
