Which ddr4?

BrisoX

So i have decided to go for 8GB of ram instead of 16GB for 1080p gaming and then upgrade later to 16GB. Just which one. Dual channel 2x4 2133mhz or 1x8 2666mhz?

Yep, brands don't really make a difference in performance when it comes to what you can notice. Go with something that has a warranty you're comfortable with. The only thing I ever got that was DOA was RAM.

Make sure your mobo supports that RAM speed too by the way.

Strange. But if you look on youtube, guys from pc part picker put ddr4-2666mhz in msi m150b mortar, when it also on oficiall websites says 2133mhz??

There won't be that much difference in the ~500mhz, especially for gaming

It will work most likely, but the mobo will down clock the ram to highest supported. If you're a BIOS wizard you probably can get max speed out of it, but that's risky stuff man

I vote for 1x8 2666.

Higher RAM speed can have performance benefits in gaming.

This is only true if your CPU is the bottleneck in the system or if you are using integrated graphics. Although if 2666MHz and 2400MHz prices don't differ that much, I'd go for 2666MHz as well.
