Hello. I recently bought a semi-gaming laptop that came with a 250GB M.2 SSD and a free slot for a normal drive. I need more space so I'm in the process of buying another drive for the laptop. My question is, should it be a 1TB SSHD or another 250GB SSD? The laptop's main purpose will be college work and running some programs like Matlab, AutoCad, etc ; however, I will also do some light gaming (CSGO, Garry's mod, etc) The price of the drives that Im considering is practically the same (Seagate 1TB SSHD or Crucial BX100 2050GB SSD). Please, help me out a little bit and thanks in advance!

PS. If my best option is the 1TB HDD, should I store my games there? Thanks!

Go SSHD, it doesn't look like you need the faster speed of an SSD.

Primary Build: i7-4790 · 16GB Hynix DDR3-1600 · Sapphire Tri-X R9 390x · NZXT S340 · Win10 Pro · Seagate Barracuda 1TB T_T

Portable: 2015 Retina Macbook Pro 13" · i5-5257u · 512GB PCIe SSD · Intel Iris 6100 T_T

If its games and basic office documents I'd go mass storage with an SSHD, windows will be on your SSD so boot speeds will still be there. If you install the programs which create your documents - e.g. word and powerpoint on the SSD but the documents on the HDD speed shouldn't really be affected - it all depends on the documents but SSD and HDD is the optimal combo for speed, capacity and value!
