Don't think it'll make a difference since Apple tends to have good audio in their devices.

@Mrkiller606 Define "better". And a transparent amp/dac should not alter the sound signature of the headphones much.

I think the amp would make them sound better though, what impedance are the 598's?

50 ohms, but they're still not hard to drive at all. Like I said, Apple tends to have good audio in their devices, so if OP is getting enough volume it should be fine. I mean, unless they're hearing static and stuff.

Does it matter what impedance they are? The 598 is very sensitive.

 

If better sound is desired, get better headphones and better mastered music.
