And imo vessel 1080p is a bit better than youtube 1080p.

BUT if you can go youtube 4k, the difference is gone. It's basicly the same.

So apart from the vessel 7-day exclusives, it's exacly the same. Oh yea youtube video's have ads. Like in the video of today, the part about that laptop ram.

Vessel video's don't have that.

LinusTechTips, Channel Super Fun & Tech Quickie videos are uploaded 7 days earlier on Vessel, but are then uploaded to YouTube. All the videos that are on vessel, are (or will be) on YouTube.

Vessel also has no ads through the video, but a short, 3 second one before the video starts.

I have a 1 gigabit connection at home (see picture below). I have found that Vessel does not leverage this high speed and only really uses approximately 25/30mb/s. This does cause a few seconds buffering during the start of the video.

Obviously this is incredibly minor and this isn't something even most people notice, but YouTube straight up pulls 200-300mb/s even when I first open the app. I guess it might be due to Google having a closer PoP to me (I live in central UK).

Other than that, there aren't many differences other than the fact you have YouTube ads in the video, and an inbuilt ad segment from Linus. On Vessel you occasionally have a 3 second ad at the start of the video, and sometimes an add in the feed as you scroll down through videos.

Hope that helps :)

Wait what? Vessel video's don't have ads? I pretty much always get ads. 3 second ads such as one about water organization or something.

I had them 3 times a while ago, and that was about it tbh... Haven't seen them since. No idea what happened, maybe because the ads weren't for me because it was about some US thing about health, and i don't even live there so it was irrelevant.

I had those ads when I was in Taiwan, even less relevant... Odd.
