Semi-fanless mode on CPU?

Go to solution Solved by Avcoor,

I dug a little more and found out that the Raijintek Tisis will easily be able to do what I want. It's a little more expensive but MUCH MUCH better than the Ereboss.

This review from Anandtech shows that te Tisis is even better than the Dark Rock Pro 3.

Hi!

I want to simulate the semi-fanless mode of the GTX 900 series but on the CPU, so I'm looking for a good CPU heatsink that will keep my CPU under 60°C even with the fan turned off.

I also want to know if there is any program or tool that will control the CPU fan so I can do it.

Some people suggested the Rainjintek Ereboss or the BeQuiet! Shadow Rock 2 or the Dark Rock 3.

Noctua and phanteks are unavailable in my region.

Ive heard wonders about BeQuiet's coolers but nothing about Raijintek's.

Specs at my sig and I'm in Brazil.

I'm planning on buying the cpu cooler when I change my case to a Coolermaster 690 III and install a top 200mm fan to keep a fairly silent passive airflow on the heatsink.

Dark Rock 3 would be your best bet. You could even pay a bit more and get the Dark Rock Pro 3, so that even when the fan needs to kick on it won't be very loud.

I've seem some comparison charts for the Ereboss. It performs EXACTLY like a Noctua NH-U12S. I think that the performance can be greatly increased by changing the fan since it comes with a really slim 140mm fan, maybe changing it to an AF140 (SP140 unavailable in my region) or a BeQuiet Pure Wing 2 might decrease 2 to 3 °C to the final result.

Doing direct Real to Dollar conversion:

BeQuiet Dark Rock PRO 3 is U$105,00

BeQuiet Dark Rock 3 is U$81,50

BeQuiet Shadow Rock 2 is U$57,45

Raijintek Ereboss is U$45,00

Keep in mind that 1USD is 4BRL. Everything is REALLY expensive here that's why I'm looking for the best bang for the buck.

Can you link us to where you're shopping?

No point converting currencies if you're not using USD.

Sure, here you go.

Considering the selection, the Ereboss is a good option.

Yes, it's better but the difference would be minimal since you're just running a 4770.

True, but I'll be "future proofing" the cooling of my CPU, in case that in the next two years I'm able to get a better CPU.
