So people have been telling me that Plex is "the stuff" and so I built a new media server and put Plex on it and it sucks... I tried to add my Futurama TV show and it found all 7 seasons (because there was 7 folders) and then it only added 1 or 2 episodes (or media files) from each folder then it proceeded to completely change the names on everything and posters on the files. Is there anyway to manually add files and names instead of Plex not finding 90% of the files and randomly naming it stuff???

Plex is usually pretty good about naming and getting images. Plex not finding files within folders is probably due to how they're named (Plex doesn't like file names with dashes in them for example).

Well with my movies folder it worked fantastic is there just any way to add files manually?

Not that I know of, although there might be. I'd probably just rename the contents of those folders.

None of the file names have dashes or anything like that. They are all similar in names but yet Plex decides to only select certain files. But I did try renaming a file just as a last resort and it still didn't work

I had similar problems. You have to make sure that your files are named properly. For TV shows file names should contain S01E01 or whatever is the case. If your file is named 101...109 then plex will organize it properly and you may not see it. There are plex support pages that are actually helpful for this. I would get a bulk renaming tool to fix improperly named files quickly.

Here is a link to one of the support pages that should help you.
