What on earth is that for? Its like a vertical graphics card slot althought graphics cards require two of these to be removed.

its really strange, And even if it did fit onto the rail, why put it on that and not just leave it directly on the mobo?

This is for things that go into a PCI slot in the case but aren't connected to the motherboard (like fan controllers)

Surely that would look ugly  with a window? All of the options would unless its a GPU or something.
