Strange Connector- looking for use and name

Go to solution Solved by chicksoup,

I think you guys are right about it being a chinese lightning connector knock off...it has the same dimensions and is missing the data transfer pins(from what I can tell)

I'm trying to figure out the purpose of this connector and what device you would use it with.

Where/When did you find it?..it almost looks like a shoddy chinese prototype of a lightning connector or a mini SATA connector

Pretty sure it's a USB cable with no "box" around the connector.

I like it...but look at the connector pads. Theyre A. not in the standard USB config and B. they look almost half finished

I doens't fit into a micro or mini usb port...I think @Jonathan W might be right, but the cable must only be for power

Could also be some proprietary bullshit because it was from a trade show.

My money is on a strange hacked up version of lightning for Apple products.

I think you're right, sadly I don't have a newer apple device that uses that connector

Anyways imo the plastic charger is dangerous if it broke while charging. It would be stuck in there.
