Is the intel Pentium G3258 & Msi H81m pro compatible

This is a simple question, but is the pentium g3258 and the h81 chipset compatible? I recently bult my pc, but used a 4590 and an msi z97s sli krait edition. But my little sister wants a pc now and I would like to build her one. I just need to know if they are compatible before i build it. Danks in advance ;)

If you aren't doing heavy gaming it'll be fine. The H81 chipset *usually can't OC though.

k

your build is a bit overkill, but if thats what you like

drop the disk drive, save some cash, get a smaller case

check out redditis microsoft software swap for way cheaper windows os

dual channel kit of ddr3 will be faster and a similiar price

30 bucks to upgrade to a 960 which would be a huge performance increase

and i recommend asus motherboards

I would just use the same parts I used in my signature for your little sister. But get a 430w PSU (it can be 80+ or just a cheap ass PSU, I only pull about 100w from the wall) and use the money you saved to buy a hard drive. She will be minecrafting for days at 60fps.

My ~$200 USD build:

AMD A8-7600    G. Skill Ripjaws Z @1800 CAS 8     EVGA 500w 80+ PSU    Gigabyte GAF2A68HM-DS2H Motherboard

She needs a disk drive, as she has an assortment of dvds

Im not accusing the websites of being sketchy but Id rather not buy from there

the motherboard has 2 dimm slots

and where would i get a gtx 960 for 130$ lol

Also i trust msi motherboards a bit more (as I and my friends all have one) and they work flawlessly

reddit softwareswap is just fine, and windows is 20 bucks instead of 90

what i mean by dual channel is 2 sticks of 4 instead of 1 of 8

i guess that works, but oh well (disk drive)

apparently i meant 40, thought the thing said 130 for the card

gtx 960 is like 150 bucks

old hdd is good, but ssd is always a solid choice

Where the hell are you finding these 150$ 960s (are you talking about a 950) and she is spending HER money on this and she doesnt need an ssd. and remember that if she ever wants to upgrade her ram and doesn't buy the 1 stick of 8gb she cant unless she gets brand new ram.

Am using that processor with a H81M-E from asus, overclocking it to 4.2 with stock cooler and i dont go over 65C at max load for over a hour benchmark. Great pieces but idk about MSI, Asus i always trust.

Yes it can handle it.

current build is G3258(4.4GHz@1.245Volts) MSI H81M-P33(Bios Version:1.9) GTX950(EVGA FTW)

just do your research 1st some people tend to tell you that G3258 ill be crap but in ideal you need to understand what will you do with the build.
