A8-7600 Benchmark Results

Badazzz

I found the root of my stability issue and it was not my overclock, it was actually my RAM for some reason, but with some tweaking I was able to fix it. Here are the relevant details of my PC:

AMD A8-7600

  • iGPU overclocked to 1442MHz
  • CPU cores are at the stock clock speed

G. Skill Ripjaws Z series (8gb dual channel)

  • Clocked at 1800MHz (higher speeds resulted in instability)
  • 8 CAS latency (I might be able to lower it to 7 in the future)

Here are the results:

Skyrim (1080p ultra with max MSAA and anisotropic filtering + high res packs): 20+ FPS

Team Fortress 2 (1080p best settings with max MSAA and anisotropic filtering): 50+ FPS

Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition (1080p max settings no MSAA and no anisotropic filtering) 55+ FPS MSAA and anisotropic filtering causes errors here for some reason

Unigine Valley (1080p ultra max MSAA or "Extreme HD") 6+ FPS

Path of Exiles (1080p best settings max MSAA max anisotropic filtering) FPS counter isn't relevant here since the FPS is dependent on the internet speed, but it runs perfect so I thought it was worth mentioning

Black Ops 1 (1080p best settings max MSAA max anisotropic filtering): 40+ FPS

These are all the games I have so far so I just thought I would update you guys on my performance since my system is stable now :) In the end, even though APUs aren't that good, it's still a major upgrade for me coming from a cheap laptop, and honestly it's all I need. I will do a follow up thread in a month or so once I get a graphics card for dual graphics to show the improvement.

My ~$200 USD build:

AMD A8-7600    G. Skill Ripjaws Z @1800 CAS 8     EVGA 500w 80+ PSU    Gigabyte GAF2A68HM-DS2H Motherboard

I turned my setting to yours and got almost identical results (1 fps difference, margin of error) :) you know your GPU cores are almost identical to mine right?

The A10-6800 isn't bad though, it has the highest CPU clockspeed for an APU, but the 7850k and 7870k are probably better options since they use R7 graphics for the iGPU which gives them better options for dual graphics. But for CPU intense games like GTA V, the 6800k is the best.

oh yea i love my A10 6800k :D

i run my MMORPG game @1024x768p @max (DX10 shadows + DX11 water) = 40 fps

and watch a 1080p movie at the same time

without any normal GPU

is heaven for me ^_^

If I could have sex with my APU, I would.
