Hello everyone,

So quite a while back, i got in to PC gaming, after hearing about the superior graphics and performance that you can get out out of a purpose built gaming machine compared with consoles, so i took to the task of building my own. After about a two and a half/three year saga, i have finally reached a position where i can show off my Rig to others over the internet without having to curl up in embarrassment. This all began, when i acquired my father's old Evesham PC of some description (I don't quite remember the system specs, but they were seriously poor). I gamed on this for a while, feeling pretty sorry for myself as this machine was clearly not built for anything more than office work, though it was all i had at the time.. From there, i decided to gradually upgrade with what little money i had, slowly switching out parts for newer ones, and eventually changing the case too. It was only recently, that i made a large leap, upgrading to an NZXT H440 case, that i realized that my PC doesn't suck quite as much as i thought it did.. After spending god knows how much time gradually swapping bits out, i have finally reached a position where my PC is no longer a lackluster office spec toaster, but a relatively decent Gaming Rig (In my opinion of course). My system specs are as follows:

CPU - AMD FX-8320 @ 4.00GHz

CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i GTX

Motherboard - MSI 970 Gaming

GPU - XFX R9 390x

RAM - Crucial Ballistix 1600MHz 8gb (2x4gb)

PSU - Novatech Powerstation v2 750w (Semi-Modular)

Storage - 3x Seagate Barracuda 500gb Mechanical Drives + 1x Intel 520 Series 120gb SSD + 1x Kingston SV300 120gb SSD

Fans - 1x Corsair AirFlow 140mm Red LED Fan + 2x Corsair AirFlow 120mm Red LED Fans + 3x  NZXT Stock Case Fans

Case - NZXT H440 in Black & Red

Case Lighting - 1x NZXT 1m Red LED Braided Cable

I decided to go with a black and red colour scheme, as to begin with, i thought that this would be the easiest and most generic color scheme to use, as i couldn't really go too wrong with these colors. As for the fans, i have my two 120mm Corsair fans mounted on the Corsair radiator on the top of the case configured to pull air out of the case, and push the hot air up and off of the Radiator fins. Then, i have the rear exhaust 140mm Corsair fan set up to also pull air out of the case, while using the three NZXT stock case fans as intakes to pull air in through the front. I decided to use this configuration, as it seemed like the most logical way to lay it out, and while i could in theory remove the 140mm rear exhaust fan and still perform reasonably well, i want to keep it there, as the Red LEDs give a nice effect to the main 'chamber' of the case. In addition to this, my PSU fan is pointing downwards in order to not interfere with any of the airflow within the case too much, and because i prefer it this way. This is my very first thread post on this forum, so i am sincerely sorry if i break any rules here, but i did read through the post guidelines before posting, so i hope i didn't miss anything. I'd really love it if you guys could give me your opinions on my build, what i could improve, and what works well. Please keep in mind that this is effectively my first serious Rig, and i'm no professional, but i tried my best with what i had, and with cable management, of which was a challenge with a semi-modular power supply. Thanks for reading my post!

Sweet PC! Wish my cable management skills were that good. Especially since I have a monster PC, it hurts to have stray cables just hangin around, you know?

I know how you feel.. I must have spent easily 12 hours on cable management simply re-doing it all constantly until it was all perfect. The H440 was a particular irritation, as it has sound dampening, leaving very little room for cabling behind the motherboard tray. I could only just fit my 24 pin round there! I'd show you, but i really don't want to have to take the side door off again. I used hundreds of cable ties on this too.. i'm a bit of an OCD freak when it comes to cabling, so if it wasn't perfect, it got rerouted until it was. I'm only 17, so i most probably have a long long way to go with cable management, but as a first attempt, i'm happy with this! Thanks by the way!

I did the same only for cost saving measures as I have a Supernova G2

Exactly. I plan to buy a fully modular PSU and potentially sleeve my own cables when i have some time and money, but i'll probably just buy the cable extensions for the time being.
