Insane network speeds

My university has these network speeds that I thought were unbelievable and I thought it would be cool to share them.

A lot of educational and business establishments will have multiple lines coming in so they get the bandwidth they need. I know my college had multiple lines in so they could get 900Mbps+ both ways.

They could be hosting the local speedtest server as well which would increase the speeds.

You don't need multiple lines for that lol

You do if the infrastructure for Gigabit speeds over single lines isn't available. And in the UK, that's basically everywhere.

Nothing special. University I work at has multiple 40Gbps connections per campus with supported upgrade to 100Gbps by putting in new QSFP modules, isn't required and won't happen any time soon.

 

We replicate multiple TB's between campuses for DR and backups, we don't have those speeds just so we can browse the internet fast but I'm not complaining

I'd say 9/10 workspaces in Norway has gigabit atm
