Hi guys, im here to get your opinions on what i have thrown together on PC Part Picker :D

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/1Bx0o

This PC is for my mate, and he had a budget of £2000, but i guess im going to help him with that in the sense that everything from the Graphics Card downwards on PC Part Picker, i either have Given or will be once he gets his other parts together give to him :). Oo and Also the sound card he has is different, its actually a Asus Xonar Xense, without the PC350 Headset as i use it :D

He will be using this for all his Uni work, and gaming. He is doing an engineering course, so will defo use the extra cores on the CPU, also he does a lot of Photoshop and Video editing for others so i guess it all comes in handy there :D.

He also asked me to make sure it has the "Bling" effect kinda when u get a new car, you buy a car fully loaded but you may not even use or actually want certain features, but you get it so that you can say you have it e.i the Corsair Dominator Platinum Ram and Asus Mobo.

I would also like to add that he will be also dipping this whole rig into water, as in Water cooling every part he can :D

Thanks guys for your help and opinions :)

What programs is he going to be using?

Corsair ssds are meh...

Platinums are a waste of money--they only look 'so good' because of the price. There's easily better looking ram.

Also! If he has programs that use OpenGL go with an AMD card, I've heard that it help a lot for rendering, for ex: Logan.

OpenCL*

For £2000 squeeze in a GTX 780. It can still look good without the dominator platinums!

Setup: i5 4670k @ 4.2 Ghz, Corsair H100i Cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB Ram @ 1600 Mhz, MSI Z87-GD65 Motherboard, Corsair GS700 2013 edition PSU, MSI GTX 770 Lightning, Samsung EVO 120 SSD + 2TB&1TB Seagate Barracudas, BenQ XL2411T Monitor, Sennheiser HD 598 Headphones + AntLion ModMic 4.0

Vbgf, Yeah he wont be getting new GPU i was just trying to showcase the whole build to see what everyone thinks

The rest of the money that he doesnt spend on the pc parts, will get spent on a beast custom watercooling system

Thanks again guys!!! :D

And yes he will be ordering this by the morning, once i get all the parts you guys are suggesting in terms of making it cheaper... I mean if the water cooling system hes gonna buy does come too expensive he may be able to buy the 780 or even a better case for water cooling :)

Top mount h100i. Replace the h100i stock fans with the F12's.

Replace case fans with the 230mm's in the front + side and the 140mm in the rear.

You need not spend so much for the 'bling' effect
