What connector do these use?

http://www.mxlmics.com/microphones/studio/550-551/

I think they use XLR, is that right?

If so, how do I hook it up to my laptop?

Oh and, What would be a good stand for the bigger one?

XLR yes

What are the mics intended purposes? Becaues unless your doing serious audio recording a condenser mic is alot of overkill.

Voice overs, how do I hook it up to my laptop?

Have a look at any of the following

Samson Go Mic

Behringer C1U

Alctron UM100

Audio-Technica ATR-2500USB

Blue Snowball

All are pretty decent mics :)

What about the nessie vs snowball? I can get them for the same price

Nessie has a built in pop filter and shock mount... but you cant take it off it's stand so it's going to look like that for the rest of your life xD

How much is that mic?  Unless it is really cheap I wouldn't touch it, they seem to think 22mm = 1.26"

I can't speak for the usb condensors, but I can say the absolute best results will come from a pro condensor mic like the rode NT1, Audio technica or at a pinch for the budget a behringer C3.  And pair it up with a 2 channel mixer (Q502 behringer) using the master line out to your line in the the motherboard.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

This - though not the greatest fan of Behringer mics..
