Help with RAM

Hi! I am upgrading my pc to skylake, I changed the motherboard to a z170 asus viii formula, therefor i have to buy ddr4 ram. I can either buy 8gb of corsair dominator platinum for $89 or 16gb of hyperx fury for $70. Pls help

get the 16, if you are play gta you may go over and editing can benefit a lot

 it doesn't matter what the pc is for if he can spend less money and get more ram and it's from a good ram maker and not a Chinese one no one heard of

Actually it does I have a few programs that require 16 gigs+

 no it doesnt. he is asking do i spend $90 on 8gb or $70 on 16 gb. umm it's common sense that you want 16. even if you will never use more than 8gb on game or anything still get the 16 because ITS CHEAPER. why waste an extra $20 on less ram. both are reputable ram makers so it's not like he's picking from the best ram and some shotty ram on a ebay deal. 

 

if anyone picked 8gb assuming that his motherboard supports 16gb (and it does) is just dumb.

The 16 GB is the only sensible choice here...Windows will load a lot of stuff into memory in the background on it's own and take advantage of all that RAM, which is far more helpful than any (miniscule) gains you'll see from running faster memory
