PC cannot sleep

Go to solution Solved by alexnt,

In network adapters properties, power management tab under wake on lan disable "Wake on pattern match".

You should just be able to click 'Sleep' in your Shut Down menu.

If you're having problems, you'll have to give us more detail.

You can't touch anything or move the mouse after that or it will wake up

Ok, on Windows search 'Fast Boot' in the settings and turn it off. It happened to me but with shut downs and I found that if I turned that off, my machine didn't randomly turn on.

Your problem is a device that wakes up the system. Usually the culprit is mouse, and Ethernet card. You execute the command: powercfg -lastwake to know what waked up the system.

Make sure that ALL wake on lan features are disabled, same in your UEFI/BIOS.

Some software also wake the system. The command above should tell you which it is.
