PPD issue

Hey guys i have a issue i have been folding for about well 3 days now none stop and i am only getting about between 15k and 30k a day i used to get around 60k easily.

I have not changed anything in my rig even folding at home is saying 90k at the moment and i have 0  failed WU. i understand about different WU   and core 15 vs core 17 but still should be getting more out of this rig.

any ideas on why such low PPD

GPU folding on core15 is MUCH better on Nvidia, it is TERRIBLE on AMD cards because it was not optimized for OpenCL. That's why core17 is much better on AMD cards.

i am running a gtx 660ti and a gtx 465 no amd cards yet not till new psu shows up

ok so no AMD, but every WU is different and points fluctuate even between two people who have the same project. I guess you can call this the "folding lottery"?

Coupld of things... check your log file for anything weird. Also... run GPU-Z - make sure both cards running at full load. What Core and what project are they on?

 

I recently got a Core 15 project on my GTX 780 that was calculating the PPD at a WHOLE 28K. Yes, 28K on a 780? Some of those odler projects are killers, but need to be finished up so we can move on.

Some of those odler projects are killers, but need to be finished up so we can move on.

People sometimes forget that folding isn't just about ppd. I got a bunch of those core15s, hated them with all my heart, but they still need to be finished

Last week my ppd was 106k, then it dropped to 50-30k ppd for rest of the week. Now just before I started to write this post my ppd was 110k and now it's 72k... Feels so random sometimes ^^

yeah, the 7810 and 7811 work units are so random, my ppd jumps from 150k to 320k when both my cards get them.

 

plus the core15 outbreak that happened didn't help

And remember - what is PPD in the client? Estimated. Based on? Your TPF - which in of itself changes from frame to frame as you computer is more or less busy. One minute a TPF can be 3 minutes and then next 10 - then watch your estimated PPD go nuts. :)

you guys are absolutely right its not about ppd thats why im still running it. about 5 days now almost 24/7 i run it while i sleep and work which is all the time but anyway today i got 21k points im just trying to figure out why a big drop is. im not complaining just stumped that's all. sorry if i come off that way its been a hard couple days. :)

Understood - can seem a bit weird when you go from 100k to 20k - newer users can interpret that as something is wrong with their systems. Nope - it's just FAH. :)

You do have your passkey set right? Unfortunately last time I looked, there is no where to look up how many "failed" WU's are attributed to an account.

And you have to maintain 80% success rate to qualify for the bonus PPD - and it is SMP/CPU folding - not GPU.
