Downgrade from windows 10 to original OS (W7) ?

Hey! Is it possible to downgrade from windows 10 to the original Operating system after the first 30days?

 

If i were to use speccy or some other software to retrieve the product key would it work on a clean install of the original operating system from installation media ?

Or is there generated another (new) product key specificly for windows 10?

You can always reinstall the original os (Win 7) using any media and your original 7 key

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

From my experience, the downgrade process isn't smooth at all. Fails a lot just like the upgrade process to Windows 10. If you're reinstalling Windows 7, you'll need to retrieve your old License Key for Windows 7. If you're doing a fresh install of Windows 10, there's no need for that as the key is stored on your PC. For both my laptop and desktop, I didn't need to re-enter my license key when doing a fresh install after upgrading.

how/why would you not have it?  How was it installed originally?

Every OEM PC with Windows 7 and below will have the product key on a label stuck to the PC. If it's Windows 8+, the product key is stored in the PC and will automatically activate when Windows is installed.

And if you bought a DVD in a package, the key will be written on the original package

It might have ended up in the trash a few years back.

There's a new product key for Windows 10. So you will need your windows 7 product key.

If you don't have your windows 7 product key then we recommend that you not to downgrade as that's may be against the forum community standard.
