just wondering im just getting it just to play bf3 honestly before this i have never been very compelled too use anything but onboard hd audio

never really needed the power as i output too a ht receiver for playback

Any sound card will work for any game unless there is a driver problem. Depending on the quality that you are looking for, it will depend on the sound card and headphones.

Any Sound card will work just fine. Just make sure you get the latest drivers for the card when you put it in and you'll be sweet

if you're using HDMI/optical/coax to a receiver don't bother with a sound card.
