As long as it is an aftermarket cooler you dont need to worry much.

I would go for the EVGA one because of their customer service if I had to get a 980 but I would much rather get the similarly priced R9 fury.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

What motherboard and other stuff do you have. I prefer to match gpu and motherboard brands since typically they match better in design.

that said, I seriously hate my gigabyte windforce 980. I have an msi gaming 7 motherboard and the gigabyte one looks ugly a fuck, not to mention it doesn't have a backplate which looks even more ugly, and it's sagging and i'm worried either the pci slot is going to bend or it's going to.

Don't suppose it's possible to buy a replacement cooler+backplate?

I've prefer evga because they have the name of the gpu on the side of the card.  I like that, if you're showing off your setup, that twin frozr cooler could be a gtx 950 or a 980.. who knows.. of course, if you have the 950 that could work in your favor lol

I would go for a Sapphire Fury. Very nice cooler, really one of the best out there, nice backplate, and very price competetive with the 980, while having very very good performance, beating it almost all the time. You can find it here

Any of the top end coolers are good. Gigabyte EVGA and MSI are usually the cheaper.. I'd just get the highest clocked card in your budget with minimal price increase.
