Quick question on reinstalling Windows 10 Pro

Now I've been having problems with my system unable to stay in sleep mode. My last resort in trying to fix this is to reinstall Windows, but my question is that can I save all my content on the internal HDD which is games and music. Everything the system runs on is the C drive which is the SSD. So should the HDD work same as a external hard drive right as you can always connect it and system will know its there. I got steam games so after reinstalling Windows 10 I can just slap my HDD back in the computer then boom. I got my games back and everything should be working..I think..

If you have an HDD to put inside your machine, it won't be harmed by a reinstall so you can backup files to it. You just have to be careful when installing windows, not to select the wrong drive. If you are unsure you can always unplug the power cable to the hard drive and once Windows is installed on your SSD, just plug it back in and no problems!
