Need help with build

Yeah

Hello everyone,

So I'm still stuck with a 3 year old laptop and yeah nothing against it but it's not really what I want for gaming. I've compiled something similar to what I'd buy but absolutely willing to make changes on everyone's expertise.

1. My budget is around £1800 (GBP) which is around $2600 (This must include peripherals unfortunately).

2. My main aim is to play games such as Skyrim, Fallout 4 heavily modded, as well as the occassional less-demanding game such as CS:GO

3. I only really plan on playing at 1080p on a single 24-27" monitor because of limited desk space.

4. I will need peripherals including a monitor.

5. Because I have bad bad laptop?!

So want to make sure that I'm not going over-kill on a certain parts considering what I'm trying to play, or go under-kill on another part and end up bottle-necking. I also obviously want to make sure that all of the parts are compatible, I don't want to end up buying parts and then not being able to use them. I'm also pretty interested in good headsets under $100 as I'm really not sure at the moment. Apart from that thank you very much for any help I receive. I greatly appreciate anyone helping me :)

1. The i5 is the best CPU for gaming, and you also don't need more than 8GB of RAM.

2. Upgraded the 980 to a 980 Ti. Much better performance. Also, didn't go for AMD since I believe Fallout 4 works better on NVIDIA cards.

3. Upgraded the monitor to 144hz, and G-Sync.

4. Changed the mouse to personal preference, I don't think razer items are very reliable.

Can add another card for SLI in the future. I forgot you can fit a 980Ti in this budget.

Build looks good. But ultrawides are more trouble than their worth. I recently brought the same one you're looking at . I'd Get 1 or 2 regular 16:9 monitors instead. Main reason being is the lack of support, most games support it, but  you will find quite a few that don't. Fallout 4 and skyrim for example.

A lot of the games can be fixed by  programs like flawless widescreen . But they some times do funny things to the games. It sometimes makes games look stretched Fallout 4 for example. And sometimes will not compensate for cross hairs on guns so aiming will be off (Like in black flag)

Thanks so much for you input and help with the build, have you used the G502, if so does it suit claw grip? I've considered it before but wasn't sure.

It's considered one of the best gaming mouses, I do like it.

Thanks sooo much for this information I've considered a ultrawide for a while but didn't really know it's impact on many games. I'll definitely consider your advice in the final build :D
