RAM compatibility with CPUs

i'm planning to build a Gaming PC with:
core i7 4790k
kingston HYPERX Fury 2x8 DDR3 1866 MHZ CL10 V1.5

MSI z97 Gaming 5 (it does support the 1866MHZ ram speed)
so on the processor specs it is written under the memory specifications that
memory types: DDR3-1333/1600, DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.5V

does that means that the Rams won't work at all with this processor or will it work at 1600MHZ
or work at a low performance that would cause problems for the system?

and if i use other memory that works at lower than or higher than 1.5V would it still work?

Any memory would be fine.

It means that the RAM will run at 1600MHz, unless you enable XMP.

I have that cpu and the same ram and it works perfectly together.

Intel "eXteme Memory Profile."

DDR3-1866 will be considered an overclocked speed.

 

The Integrated Memory Controller (IMC) officially "supports" DDR3-1333 and DDR3-1600. Anything beyond will involve some overclock the IMC.

 

1866 MHz should not be an issue, as it's only slightly higher from 1600. If you were talking about 2400 MHz, 3000 MHz, or beyond, that may be a different story.

Intel eXtreme Memory Profile. It is a preset set of settings for memory timings and clock speeds. (Basically kinda a memory OC, but covered by RAM warranty, and done by the manufacturer.)
