Did you already buy the display or something? As ultra wide displays generally aren't worth it, a 390 should do that resolution alright, it does 1440p pretty well as is

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I disagree, the extra width would be wonderful.

You'd be able to watch movies in their native aspect ratio (Assuming the movie being watched was shot in ~21:9), have two applications open directly next to each other without having much of an issue with width, if you're editing a video, you've got plenty of extra room for the timeline and video previews and such.

I personally plan to have two 2560x1440 monitors and a 3440x1440 monitor in the middle. (Probably at least a year from happening)

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

Except 4k gives you more pixels, and currently free-sync for less than the cost of a 1440p 21:9 display, so you'd have more vertical pixels, you just get a bit better scaling with the 34" 21:9 display rather than the 27" free-sync display, although there's now a korean 32" 4k display for still less than the ultra wide

I'd go with a i5-6500 or if it fits your budget, 6600k with z170 board

Probably something like this then, with a higher end GPU if your budget is higher.

Skylake would be like $30 more + extra cost for DDR4, probably not worth it
