Well, it money isn't really an issue, Silent Wings 2's or NF-A14's would be among the best of options. 
SW2's for quieter operation or A14's for better performance.

i just purchased the air 540 case from corsair and when i turned the computer on for the first time i noticed how loud the stock fans in the case were.

 

any suggestions on good quiet 140mm fans to use in this case?

If you have the money, try getting Noctua fans. They are expensive but are good and quiet. If you can't spare the money, get the Fractal Design Venturi fans. They're not as good as the Noctua ones but still an excellent choice.
