How to eventually upgrade my computer?

Basically, what do you guys as a community think I should focus on upgrading next? I just bought my monitors so I would be focusing mainly on the tower itself. The upgrade would take place over time, not right now. I am looking to get ideas for around a May upgrade (birthday).

Probably just to a 40" 4k display, otherwise just wait for the new GPUs, probably getting an AMD one if they're competitive as you'll save money on free-sync displays for better gameplay compared to G-sync

I really don't feel the need for 4k, but something with a higher refresh rate might be a nice change eventually.

Higher refresh rate monitor definitely. Later maybe go for an i7 and then a GPU. Also Cooling Cooling Cooling. Get those temps as low as you can

Starts at around $250 for that now, the non free-sync ones are like $20 less last I checked, however they're going to be TN displays, which isn't too great if it's going to be your only display

Just really don't think you ethically have to upgrade. Like I upgrade when I think I need performance. You already have a top tier PC specs wise. 
If you don't know if you need to upgrade I really don't think you have to upgrade. 
Want the best of the best? That's a different story.

Well I built it with college in mind and made it so I could potentially leave it alone for 4 years without the need for upgrading it. It is far overkill for what I need, but I might just upgrade the case after a little when a case manufacturer decides to make a good mATX case.
