A little question.

Hello everyone! Building a new PC soon, and I wanted some advice. I want an AMD Radeon series for sure, but I just want to know what card would provide me a decent performance on GTA V, and that new "The Division" on ultra, without totally destroying my bank account, so like, under 290$. Everyone says R9 390x is super good but i want the best value. And I guess if there are NVIDIA cards you'd recommend, go ahead and post them as well I guess.

Could you wait for the next line of GPUs from AMD and Nvidia coming out later this year? If you can stand to wait, I would recommend it.

For your budget, nothing. A 390 won't provide a solid 60fps in The Division because of it not handling demanding scenes very well.

 

If you drop down some settings then maybe.

And that's not the best excuse. Those demanding scenes run just fine on a overclocked 970.

 

But the OP wants a AMD.

All depends on the resolution you game at. For 1080p, get a 390/970. The new cards are probably over 6 months away and are focused at higher resolutions than 1080p.

I said if you know any good NVIDIA cards, to recommend them. I don't really have a set budget either, was just saying that's the price that I'd LIKE for it to be or lower.

And I'll definitely purchase an NVIDIA card if I get a good opportunity

Well, for features, day one drivers, shadowplay, streaming using a Shield, and graphics options not available to AMD users the 970 is a given. The EVGA FTW+ being the best.

Its true power being that of a reference GTX 980....when overclocked by about 150MHz....
