Honestly I think the 390 wil be overkill for 1080...

I could save about 80$ going with the 380X

I have a 144hz monitor but the only game I care about that in is CsGo...

So is the 380x good for what I want. Cs should not be a problem, and i think it wil hold at 1080.

Side note, im typing this on a phone, that is why the gram is horrible.

I would say it depends what your future plans are as well. Are you planning on playing higher resolutions? Getting into AAA titles that are more demanding?

If the only game you care about is CS:GO, you could very comfortably get an R9 380 (non-X) instead. Still a solid performer at 1080p for AAA titles and should last a good few years, given that you buy the 4GB model and adopt realistic expectations about what settings you run as games become more demanding.

Alternatively, AMD are rumoured to be releasing the R9 390 in a 4GB variant, that would be worth picking up. I'm not sure when it's out, though.

I would honestly get the 380X, preferably the Nitro. It runs cool and quiet (the 390 CAN do that as well, but needs a certain airflow for that, and more so than the 380X) and if you mostly play CS:GO you will definitely not need the 390. Your experience would be more than pleasant with a 380X at 1080p and saving that kinda money is pretty substantial in my opinion. I do own a 290 myself and love the card, but personally I am past the age where I need every last bit of juice, though I do understand people who want that.

So really you gotta ask yourself: Do I need every last slider maxed out to ULTRA? Or am I fine with a few settings tuned down in those demanding AAA-titles?

Price/performance is not really something too interesting between those cards since they both are putting out a similar performance/dollar, your mileage may vary here though.
