What is the best piece of technology you ever bought?

3570tech

My PC. Mainly the GPU, was about 30% of the PC's budget. Just holding it felt more like "woah, this thing is nice" compared to my CPU, mobo, etc. I could say my iPhone 5 but it was only 200$ not too bad at all. My 3GS was more "big" at least in my eyes because I saved up for a year for that dumb thing, only for them to lower the price 50$ a month later.

What is the best upgrade you did on your PC? And i'm not asking value only, what i'm asking is what upgrades improved the most your PC experience.

For me was an ssd, my reaction was: Oh crap my PC is on cocaine, so responsive! But as i use my PC for really long periods of time buying a really nice chair, comfortable headphones and a mech keyboard made my life much better, way more noticeable than any hardware upgrade.

So share your experiences!

Totally agree with you. SSD is one of the best upgrades you can make to your PC. Once I installed one in mine almost had a heart attack on how quick Windows booted up.

I was given my first pc by a friend and it had a old 9600gt 1gb without a fan in it and then i begged super hard to my mum so she'd buy me a 560 ti for my birthday. I was finally able to be able to play battlefield 3 beta on high and cod 4 on max. Best feeling in the world having an absolutely gigantic fps boost :D

Next biggest upgrade was my ssd, then my mechanical keyboard.

Definitely my 240gb SSD from Intel for now. Next big upgrade will probably be a TITAN once I find out how the next line (700) will compare.

My two best upgrades:

1. Going from P4 2.4Ghz single core to Pentium D930 3.0Ghz dual core.

2. ssd as an os drive.

For me, it was when I'd gotten my 2nd HD5870 at launch, but it wasn't just the card.....it allowed me to game with 3x 24" monitors @5760x1200. First time I tried EF surround gaming, I was hooked.......

The motherboard. I always wanted a RoG board. But I think the SSD I'm going to be adding soon is going to be the best upgrade.

SSD boot drive. Makes the biggest difference to a rig these days, assuming other hardware is still newish.

The best upgrade I bought, was a 4x cd writer. cost me about £200 in the late 90s :o
but I ment I could back up all my stuff and all the other stuff that goes with having a Burner, that's probably best not mentioned ;)
Also saved me a lot of time, because I could build windows 95/98 recovery disc's instead of calling me to install a OS.
Oh and building my own audio discs was cool

Going from a 5570 to a 7950 was a pretty big step. After that I would say my SSD.
