Thats what stickie is for. It lists things your topic should have for people to quickly assist. Inside forum form would be one thing but biggest problem is that many of the threads start in completely wrong section so forcing to use form would be useless.

Pretty much this. We've done as much as we can. We don't want to be too heavy handed in that section as it attracts a lot of new members to it. This is also why a form would not work because as mentioned, a lot of threads are moved from general or other areas to there.

This has been an issue for me since the dawn of time.

I am sick and tired of asking the same old questions when trying to help people decide what to buy. This is particularly bad in the 'New Builds/Planning' forum.

What I suggest is a mandatory form that asks the OP their budget, their use for the PC, and preferred platform. This would be visible to all who view the topic.

The sticky topic simply doesn't work.

This would make helping out PCMR noobs more painless, and cut down on frustration for people who just want to help. A lot of the time I could really help someone build a good PC, but their post is just like 'I play minecraft and I need a PC GO'.

There also needs to be a location and currency, as well as a bracket for the parts that OP already has (because some might want to re-use RAM etc) and if they need monitor, peripherals etc.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White

An Excel Spreadsheet or Google Docs ?

How I planned my first build as a newbie. Component / Price / Sources (hyperlinks etc)

Its a must when planning a build. Lists. Checking compatibility.

Tell the beginner/noobs to fill it in then ask questions.

The sticky doesn't work, and on top of that people who don't read the sticky don't get their topics locked and don't get warned.

As for the wrong section thing... That's always going to happen in every section with every topic
