If you want to do video editing, maybe look into a 5820k, its of similar price but has more cores

You mentioned rendering, so I changed it to a 5820k.

Other than that didn't change much except RAM and case.

EDIT: Forgot part list lol http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TJsrTW

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

the 5820K is like an infinitely better option, or the Xeon 1231v3 is a better option

do you already have 4k displays or something?

Well then you should definately buy your display now, although I'm going to recommend that you invest in a 4k display rather than a high end GPU, as a high end GPU is wasted with only a 1080p display or whatever you're using.

and GPU prices are going to fall faster than Display prices, so a decent display is going to last you a long while, while the GPUs capable of pushing 4k are always going to get cheaper.

Or did you have a separate budget for the display?

This one is 4k IPS with free-sync, at that budget you should probably just pay the extra for 4k, although 32"+ is better for productivity. Plus free-sync is a nice bonus, though obviously you won't be running many games at 4k with a 390.

and X99 is easily going to be worth it over skylake.
