I want to be able to overclock a Skylake i7-6700K with a CPU air cooler in an mini-ITX system. My motherboard will be the ASUS Z170i Pro Gaming and the Phanteks Evolv ITX case I will be using has 200mm CPU cooler height.

After much research I've chosen the Thermalright Silver Arrow ITX. It is advertised to fit ITX motherboards like the ASUS Maximus Impact (it's ROG certified) them it should fit other ASUS ITX boards too. The CPU to RAM is spaced about the same. In a photographic mockup I made centered on the CPU it just overlaps the edge of first RAM slot. If I slide it back by 2mm in my mockup, then it clears the slot. So I wrote Thermalright about this and they replied:

Our mounting system allows users to move the heat-sink a little bit (3mm-5mm) to avoid getting contact with the big memory heat spreader. So, yes, Silver Arrow ITX will fit your Asus Z170i Pro Gaming motherboard... I just checked with a local reseller who told me Silver Arrow ITX fin stack will go out of motherboard by 7.5mm.  So it requires a big mini-ITX case that gives room in that direction to use a Silver Arrow ITX.

So on both points (motherboard and case) there will be no problem and I think it's a beautiful looking cooler too for an ITX system. But is the Thermalright Silver Arrow ITX worth $85 USD Amazon?

Edit: I thought this was tech news, sorry

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

The cooler is pretty good but also expensive.

You can find other coolers in the same price range or 5-10$ bucks cheaper that perform about the same. But I'd say go for it as you already made sure it will fit.

Mineral oil and 40 kg aluminium heat sinks are a perfect combination: 73 cores and a Titan X, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Oil
