Need Help with this build

OK i need to know if this is good value. Cause i can see more powerful build for the same price on pcpartpicker. 

 

P.S: i will be overclocking the i3 and i have only a monitor, so i need the mouse and keyboard and the wifi card too. (on a laptop)

 

EDit: i have a 900p monitor. I wanna know if this will wreck my 7 yr old monitor

That ain't an unlock processor, so afaik you can't overclock that.

 

Everything else is solid, good choice of components except the CPU, I don't think you can OC that

Yea I agree with r1Ns3. I dont think the cpu is right for this job but all the other components are all great choices.

Overclocking the i3 might help a bit, but I'd rather get a cheaper board and detch the cooler and get the i5. You would be better off with more cores than have a better clock.

You can OC non K Skylake CPU's!

Guys you can overclock it but only with ASROCK mobo. U increase the base clock

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned anything about the NEX PSU. I'd change that to a XFX, SeaSonic or EVGA GS/G2/B2 one.

You can OC any Skylake CPU, but as Deez said you need an ASRock mobo.

OP, you probably don't need a 650W PSU but you have a fairly cheap one there so it's not a huge issue. And I mean, if you want to upgrade in the future a bigger PSU is handy for sure.

There is nothing wrong with the i3 and it's cheaper than what you suggested. A 750w PSU is complete overkill but the price of that one is alright, though it is much less efficient. I can't speak for the GPU so I will have to trust you

Four true cores will always perform better in games, hence the i5. Not saying the i3 is bad but for games like GTA V and Fallout 4, you're going to want a four core CPU.

 

I didn't pick the PSU because of its wattage, I picked it because of its price (as you said). It has Japanese capacitors, good ripple suppression and 12V regulation. The NEX doesn't have the Japanese capacitors and I would deem it more unreliable than the one I've suggested. Efficiency ratings mean very little to be honest.

 

Powercolor's PCS+ cooler is great. Think of it as the slightly louder Sapphire variant.

Yeh fair, it really depends on what gaming is being done. For me PSU efficiency is a bit of a thing that I like to keep an eye on but the difference between the 80+ levels is relatively small. I think good quality build is probably the best thing to look for and you justified it pretty well.

YES I KNOW but it is not as easy and nowhere near as effective and user friendly as just normal overclocking. Just pay like 10 bucks more for an unlocked one or don't OC at all
