I dont know how much the Z170 motherboards will drop, even in a year. They will drop some but i think this chipset will be around for a little while, so their value will still be high. If your looking for a 10% drop in price, it may go that much but i doubt much more.

Intel Core i7-6700k | 2 X Gigabyte 4GB GTX 970 Overclocked Edition | 16GB (4X4GB) DDR4 2133MHz Corsair Dominator Platinum | MasterCase Pro 5

What motherboard are you using right now? Why do you even want to upgrade? The price will obviously drop since that is how the market works - new products will come and the older ones will get a price decrease. Is it worth the wait? - I don't think so.

If i wait like a year for a motherboard to drop in price, would it worth the wait or should i get it now (it is the Gigabyte Z170 Gaming 7)

Parts rare see price drops these days. If you have the price, wait for a general sale to happen and buy it then. But if you want it now, then just get it now.

Bad idea buying component separate components as I bet you'll find that you'll have a motherboard psu etc and then the new architecture will be released and you'll be real bummed. I know I would.

See my Build here!

I am building a gaming pc and i wondered if i should wait a year (because now i don't have the money) and buy all my components all at once or buying components piece by piece (when i have the money, i buy the component).

Save your money and buy all the components at once. There is nothing worse than buying a part, waiting a year, then finding out it's DOA with no recourse for returning -only RMA'ing it. If you can't test a component as soon as you receive it -don't buy it.
