Hello everyone,

My friend's PC has been experiencing random restarts after normal use. What happens is the whole system loses power for less than 1 second before rebooting as if nothing happened.

I thought it was something PSU or GPU related however the restarts occur while idling after approximately 8 minutes of bittorrent being open. Without bittorrent open a restart has not occured yet.

Someone else unusual I found was after the restarts event viewer reported over 65 000 DCOM errors, event ID 10010. This leads me to believe that it could be software related, however I am open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Remove bittorrent and run the system like that. If it's fine, it was software. If not, it's something else

Firstly I would like to thank ddswh1pk0s for making this thread for me as I did not want to turn on my computer due to risk of damaging a component(s).

The tests that I have currently done include playing intensive games, which resulted in no restart, Having max fan speed on the gpu for an extended amount of time, Changing the powerboard that my PC and monitors are plugged into and changing the socket in the wall the powerboard is plugged into and so far, if bittorrent is not open, my PC is fine. I also removed my graphics card and ran integrated graphics and the issue only occured if Bittorrent is running.

It appears to be bittorrent, I will remove it and hopefully it will never happen again.

Try using uTorrent instead.

Also list the specs please, and let me know if it has a Gigabyte AMD card.

I only needed to torrent a file sent from my friend as it was faster than uploading to a site and direct downloading,(NOTE: Bittorrent was not installed and or used before this issue started occuring), I do have a gigabyte card but it is not AMD. These are my specs:

CPU: Intel Core I7-4790k

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61 Water Cooling

GPU: Gigabyte G1 GTX 980ti

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3 ATX LGA1150

RAM: 16.00 (2x 8GB Stick) Kingston Hyper X Fury Black

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD

Storage: Seagate Barracude 3tb 7200rpm

Case: NZXT Noctis 450 (Black/Red)

PSU: Seasonic G-750 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Wireless Card: Asus PCE-AC68 Dual Band PCI-E Adapter, 802.11ac with 2.4ghz & 5ghz channel support.

Monitor (Gaming): Asus VG248QE 144hz 24" 1920x1080p

Monitor (Other): Samsung SD390 27" 1920x1080p

Would also like to point out that the issue started occurring after bit torrent was installed, and as of right now the computer runs fine without this program being open. I will post an update if anything changes.

NOTE: In event viewer as stated before, after the restart occurs, there is usually after 65,000 DistributedCOM Errors Event ID 10010, Also this is the message that is received with every error: "The server App.AppXck5aaxyarfx8gxrgfk6pvakmmxeqvepc.mca did not register with DCOM within the required timeout."

Thanks for the help guys, I just freak out if anything goes wrong with my PC.

*Edit: Forgot to put motherboard in specs. Added now
