Hi folks,

so, I recently adquired a new video card, since my last one died a few months ago. I'm not a hardcore game and I got a good deal for the r7 360. I was playing some games and monitoring my gpu and cpu temperatures with MSI Afterburner and I noticed that I wasn't using much VRAM. I looked it up on the internet and found out that it's probably because of my resolution (I'm using analogical LCD monitor, connected on my vga through a DVI-VGA adapter, 1440x900 resolution). I decided to run a quick benchmark on 3DMark just to check if the VRAM would eventually go to its max. Well... it didn't. It only got 1680mb, tops. Now I'm a little bit worried, GPU-Z says I've 2GB dedicated VRAM, so why I'm not getting all this while benchmarking?

System Specs:

FX-6300 3.5GHz

2x2 4GB 1333mhz Kingston

Windows 7 running on a 500GB WD HDD

Asus M5A78L-M/USB3

CX430 PSU

Gigabyte R7 360 2GB DDR5 Windforce GURU II OC

PS: I wrote this in a hush and probably did some grammar mistakes since english isn't my first language, so sorry about that.

probably because the benchmark doesnt need more than that...

or your gpu is just too weak

Humm I see.

But even if my gpu is too weak, shouldnt it be using all its vram or is really because that nothing that I play use that much VRAM in this resolution?

I tested it on Starcraft 2, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare and Outlast (not so much new games) and my VRAM usage didnt go above 700mb.

Like I said, I'm not a hardcore gamer and this gpu is just as powerful as I need it to be.

Some games dont really need more VRAM.Lets say by playing Mad Max on the Very High preset with my 750Ti,top VRAM usage was like 1500 MB.
