When ever I switch between my headphones and speakers, I go through sounds from the control panel and select either the speakers or headphones as the default. The two audio inputs are my monitor (HDMI) and my Focusrite Scarlett Solo, which requires drivers to use. No matter if I select Focusrite or the speakers the speakers always play the audio. I should also mention that I can't change the volume of the speakers- it stays the same. I have reinstalled the drivers for the Focusrite, but nothing worked. I'm sure it's just a simple problem that will make me look like an idiot, but I just can't figure it out.

Thanks!

Sometimes if a program is set to play through a certain audio device when it starts up, it will continue playing through that device even when you switch the default to the other device.

If you try closing the program, changing the default audio device, then starting it back up - does that make any difference?

Almost as cool as my temps

Doesn't make a difference. Also, when I use Spotify with the headphones selected I cannot play music, and the songs just keep skipping like I am repeatedly clicking the skip button over and over. The skipping problem does not happen when my speakers selected. Not sure if the Spotify problem makes a difference but I thought I should mention it.
