Have you ever tried carrying something that heavy around to school everyday? You'll end up breaking your back 10 times a day.

You don't need a $2000 laptop for learning, movies, VMs and minor gaming. That would be overkill.

A Lenovo Y50-70 will do just fine. There are countless other laptops in ~800-~1200 price range that will handle gaming and lots of other things, including VM.

Not saying i plan on spending that much, i just have that available too find something comparable with more ram.

I can hit the $3,000 range but there all way too bulky.

Get an XMG C505/Gigabyte P35v3 (edit, apparently, Gigabyte's already on the P37x model).

I have the previous iteration of this laptop (see sig), and can only say good thing about it. Thin, light, and fast.

A second hand (last) gen Razer Blade (Pro) is also an option, that thing is a beast, tho with how warranties are in 'Merica it might not be as good of an idea as it is here.

There's also the Aorus lineup from Gigabyte, my friend has a first gen Aorus 17", loves it.

MSi has their stealth series as well if you want something thin and powerful.

RuneScape is still the best MMO ever made.

I would say get a Clevo P650Rx based machine. Thin and light for its class, looks professional with that brushed metal finish, and stays cool with 3 cooling fans.

Sager is much cheaper than other Clevo resellers in the US.

I've heard Gigabyte machines are very prone to thermal throttling.

It might have some, but if it does it's not really noticeable enough that it impacts performance in a big way - especially since the gaming you're gonna do on it will be light.

I have the model with a 870m, and I can run Witcher 3 on medium-high (1080p) at around 30-40ish fps, something peaking in the 50ies for a prolonged period of time. The 900-series should have even less problems with thermals since they're less power-hungry than their 800-series cousins.

The Aorus on the other hand doesn't suffer from any thermal throttling at all, the cooling on those things is fucking beast. (it does get loud though) (both do).

RuneScape is still the best MMO ever made.
