So yesterday, I decided to purchase 2 deepcool RGB LED strips, install them, and set both of them (both of them at once using the same remote) into strobe mode. Initially, they are in sync, however after a minute or two, one strip starts changing colors faster than the other, and the difference only grows with time. The molex connector I plug the 2 controllers into dictates which of the 2 strips goes out of sync (as in when I switch the power cables on them, they still go out of sync but the strip that eventually switches colors faster than the other strip also switches) Currently, I have them plugged into each other and then into the same connector, and the problem persists. Why is this happening? does the current/voltage a strip receives dictate how fast it cycles through colors? how do I solve this?

By strobe do you mean the color changing mode where it goes through all the different colors?
It shouldn't go out of sync with each other especially if the strips are connected in series to each other.

I assume there is no option to plug one strip directly into another one right?

I like Computer Stuffs. Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it in again? Automation Expert (Bots, scripts, etc)! Add me on Xbox Live: JollyPlanet449 And on Steam!: Baxtmann Wanshow.tips is a cool place too

Yes, that mode. I put both of them directly into the molex ports on my power supply, so we'll see what happens now. Is there a chance that one of the controllers could be defective?

You need to hookup the LED's via the controller since it controls the different colors and modes. It should hookup like this here where the controller has a split with two cables for the LED's, however it sounds like possibly you have a defective unit or something causing one of the lines to operate with a delay making it go out of sync:

I did just that, but I have 2 controllers for 4 strips, and they go out of sync with each other, not the 2 strips plugged into one controller

Oh I see then it's not uncommon for that to occur since there are tolerances in manufacturing with the controllers or integrated circuits so it can cause them to be slightly out of sync. You might be able to get away with splitters and run all 4 strips off of one controller but to confirm does the unit have any data on it's max amperage or power capabilities.

From looking around it seems like they can provide 6amps on the output so you could use splitters to have all the LED's on a single controller:
