Going to start ordering parts asap. Just wanted to post and see what tips people had. Trying to keep it under $500. Choosing the i3, because in the near future i plan to upgrade to a 4690k.

Smart on the i3, for it would be cheaper to have a bad i3 and a intel cpu than having to replace the mobo and the cpu. The Video card is questionable but i'm not very familiar with budget cards that well, but I know its better than the 750 ti. Everything else looks good though.

You should spend a bit more and get a 380 over a 950, the 380 is faster than even a 960 by a decent ammount

In addition you don't want an unlocked i5 for your upgrade, your motherboard isn't even Z97, you're going to want a Xeon 1231v3 which has twice the threads of the unlocked i5 at around the same cost

 

Also you have mail in rebates turned on, should turn those off as they almost never work
