I am currently on socket 1366 and want to upgrade to haswell and possibly upgrading GPU to a 780 or wait for 9xxx.

I am planning on buying the new components from the money I get from selling my current ones and I can add a few hundred to it.

My current setup that I am wanting to sell and upgrade:

Intel i7 980X Extreme Edition 6 Core

12GB Corsair Dominator Red 1600Mhz

Asus Sabertooth x58

Dual GeForce GTX 580

(Running triple monitor setup)

How much do you think I could get for them?

I was not going to sell my 580's yet as I don't game as much as I use to and do not mind compromising graphics for frame rate but due to my triple monitor setup I cannot run them in SLI as the 580 only allows you to run 2 monitors from one card.

The 980X is way overkill for my needs, I am a Web Developer/Designer so I do not need a lot of CPU power as I do not use demanding programs. I also play games (only on one monitor) and the usual browsing the web and stuff.

From what you think I can get for my current components what would you say the best setup would be for me?

I was thinking:

4770k

MSI Z87-GD65-GAMING ATX Motherboard

*Already have RAM*

780? maybe wait for 9xxx series

The the 980X is already overkill and the 580's are fine, why are you even upgrading?

First reason was because of the Sabertooth, the cards are sandwiched together not giving any room to breath so I was looking for a new motherboard and the only decent board was the Rampage III extreme which has issues of its own and even when I do find a sutable motherboard for my needs the only place I can find to buy is from eBay as all resellers stopped doing 1366 about a year ago. Also triple channel is annoying when wanting to upgrade ram

You won't need to replace that system, maybe a GPU upgrade

^

I'd just upgrade the gpu then.
