"Safely remove" graphics card?

Snapzz3

I don't know how else to explain this but after just updating the drivers of my graphics card i get the option in the notifications tray to press to safely remove the graphics card just as if it was a USB stick; http://i.imgur.com/oE3y09k.png

I've never seen this before so i'm just wondering if something bad will happend if i press it.

I assume it's just a piece of software the tells the BIOS to switch to the iGPU quickly, maybe if you were upgrading.

Apparently Nvidia did it on purpose.

It's a feature to disconnect external GPUs.

I believe that is a recent bug with the driver update, but yeah I don't think it would do anything if you clicked it but I wouldn't try  :D

According to a quick google search, it is because of the new Nvidia driver that allows for thunderbolt cards.  There is a bug that is making some non-thunderbolt cards have this popup.  It should be fixed soon.
