This is most likely a very stupid question, but my clock in Windows is completely messed up. I set the clock to my time zone, and set the time correctly. If my computer goes into sleep mode or if I turn it off, the clock will go back. Foe example, I was on my computer and the time was correct. Then I went to eat and I put my computer in sleep mode. Then when I came back, the time was 54 minutes behind. How can I fix this? Not a huge issue, but it is very annoying.

EDIT: By the way I have Windows 8.

Make sure it's set properly in the BIOS itself.

might this be something caused by turning down the base clock speed?

No.

I just set the time correctly in the BIOS. I will be able to see if that worked tomorrow morning.

To people saying the CMOS battery might be dead - It doesn't matter. As long as the system gets power, the BIOS settings will not reset, whether the system shuts down or is in sleep mode.

I know this sounds silly, but make sure your motherboard still has the CMOS battery in it. I know it probably will since your overclocks will stay as well as the time will not always reset to 12:00... but you should check anyway :)

Is your cmos battery dead?

Ok this might sound stupid, how can I tell if it is dead? :P

EDIT: It is in the motherboard, I just don't know if it works or not.

Unplug the system for about a few minutes, and plug it back in and see if your settings are still there.

I did that, my settings are still there. What I did notice is, the time in the BIOS didn't change. I set the BIOS time correctly an hour ago, and the time on the BIOS was still the same. Could this be the issue?

Wait...The BIOS clock is what it was when you set it to the appropriate time?

I set the BIOS clock about an hour and 20 mins ago. The time in the BIOS has not changed. So yes it is still at that time.

That's odd that it's not updating. Perhaps it's a bug in the BIOS version?

What should I do? Try flashing a different BIOS?

Are there any updates available for your motherboard? Are you using your ROG motherboard? If so, does that have USB BIOS Flashback?

So the clock in the BIOS doesn't update at all the way it should?

Have you changed Windows time to manual in CP?
