Should I swap out my 960?

Ops
Go to solution Solved by EzioAuditore,

i think the gtx 970 and r9 390 are the best cards : about 300$ and really good peformance...

if u can sell your 960 for a good price then i would go for it, but u should be able to play most games on 1080 p on decent settings...

u can also hold on it and get the new nvida pascal gpus which will come in 3 months and smoke all those 970 / 390 "fanboys" ;D

Ok so I bought a Gigabyte GTX 960 4Gb in early December 2015 it runs great, I've had no problems with it but I keep hearing "960 stinks get a 970 or a R9 390". Is it all true? Should I find some way to get my money back for the 960 and get a different card?

Unless your not satisfied with your 960 I'd say no. If you have performance issues and can get a full refund then consider a R9 380X.

Not every game but about 85% of them. If not Ultra I can run everything on High.

The 960 is a weak card with a very high price tag. There is no way we could be praising it. Sorry.

Polaris and Pascal are due in about 4 and 5 months respectively. Your call

http://www.newegg.com/global/au/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202183&cm_re=r9_380x-_-14-202-183-_-Product Is this a good brand? I've heard NEVER to buy Asus and Geforce AMD cards.

Sapphire are the best AMD brand you can get and that is the best 380X

True Don. But before the 960 I had a 550TI. And all the other cards I was looking at were above my budget.

R9 380 is usually cheaper than a 960 and faster by about 15%

Ok so if I got a R9 380x how would I go about getting a refund for the 960? There's nothing wrong with the card so I can't do it that way.

TL;DR GTX 960 is a great card for 1080p gaming. Nice, cheap card (best value nvidia wise)

Don't listen to all the haters, I had a GTX 750Ti I considered getting a GTX 960 but I went a head and bought a GTX 970. HOWEVER, if you compare the GTX 960 to the GTX 660 it's better. The GTX 760 was more of an "odd" card because of it's performance "boost" it had. I think the GTX 960 is a GREAT Mid-ranged GPU for 1080p. I personally have a GTX 970 (as I said earlier) I think I went a little overkill with buying this card because all of the games I play, this card throws out 200+ FPS. So, if you ask me it depends on the games you currently play and plan to play. I might even downgrade to a GTX 960 just because I haven't and don't have any games that I can throw at this. Sure, I have Crysis 3..but I don't play it anymore..I've beaten in several times and MP is almost dead. So... :P

You made your bed, now sleep in it!

So fn sick and tired of people saying should I return it for an upgrade, it doesn't meet my expectations. Do your research and then buy something, not buy and then........ooh not os good

We all like manufacturers to do right by us, but a select few think it's alright to pull this bs!

Live with it and learn, and make a better choice next time.

Then don't visit this forum. Because nvidia gets shat on repeatedly.

And ASUS is generally avoided because they have shit warranty on graphics cards, plus the fact they're nothing special to begin with.

Some exceptions, the 290X from ASUS (I believe) had VRM issues, and the 970 Strix was a turd.

As someone who went from AMD to Nvidia, that's not entirely accurate.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

I guess everyone's got an opinion. I like AMD and Nvidia , the problem with each system being different is that you don't always know what's going to work for you compared to other people.
