Hard Drive not working/showing up?

Hello everyone, so I decided to stupidly spray paint my hard drive (took off the cover) and when I put the cover back on.... it didn't show up.

 

I've reopened the hard drive and when it starts up (and the arm thing goes back and forward on the disk while spinning and then stops after 10 or so seconds)

 

So was wondering what's going on here...?

EDIT: Seagate barracuda 1TB + I SPRAY PAINTED ONLY THE COVER, NOT THE PLATER

As soon as you opened it up it was dead.

It is dead, no chance of recovery without an expensive service.

No chance at all. The platter is contaminated beyond repair

wait you mean you open the top cover which access the platters?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

It's no possible. Opening up the HDD results in contamination of the platter and thus making it unreadable. HDDs are purposefully assembled in special environments with no external agents.

When the platter is damaged it's not possible.

Only the cover (top protective part)... not the platter....
