Headphones?

Friend is a budding music composer, wants a new pair of headphones for his keyboard. Suggestions?

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

budget also does he need them to be more like monitors (where the sound is almost exactly the same)

They have definitely gotten better for the price recently, I still wouldn't recommend to compared to something like M50x's compared to their CHEAPEST MODEL. I had the original Solos and I liked my $20 earbuds from Skullcandy better. Especially wouldn't recommend beats for a keyboard.

Then HD558/M40X, depending if you want open/closed back.

Both come with the 1/4 plug that would plug into a keyboard.

monitors type of earbud never mind i just realized when you said keyboard you meant piano keyboard not synthesizer keyboard
