My girlfriend wants a laptop to play Cities Skylines on. What's the cheapest laptop she could get that would run it decently.

The title pretty much says it all. What's the best bang for the buck we can get? Don't really have a budget yet, just trying to get an idea of how much a laptop that could run that game would cost.

my old 6770m runs it at 768p and around 30 fps, so not well, but that would qualify for "minimum requirements"

i'd say to max out the game, you'd need a decently clocked 2c/ht processor or better. (thats mobile i3/i5, i'd say 2.6GHz or better)

and gpu wise.. 870m or better.

that said, she may probably be fine with "not maxing out the game"

I would definitely check out e-bay. My brother and I found a decent Alienware (to be specific: An Alienware m14x R2, 3rd gen i7 2.6ghz, nvidia gt650m, 8gb ram) for $650US and my brother has used it to play Metro: Last Light (not 100%) but I believe at least medium settings. My point is do a little research on older laptops and you can definitely find an awesome laptop. Hope this helps and don't be afraid to buy used.

Note, this recommendation is based on the minimum recommendations of the game. You should be able to play at 1280 * 720 at Medium/Low Settings.

Hold on, the name is "Dell Inspiron i7559-763BLK" (note the "i7" part) but it has an i5... Nice one dell...

Anyways, that would more than do it I believe :)
