My SSD shipped by Amazon is supposed to arrive to me by 8 PM but the tracking still says it's in Illinois in a place 5 and 1/2 hours away from me... I don't whether to be outside in the negative degree weather waiting for it, or to expect it to be here Monday...post-253789-0-62293500-1453587534.png

I don't know what you're worried about, I've had monitors go 6 hours in one day during a storm.

But first, let's talk about parallel universes.

If you choose "require a signature" in shipping you'll know exactly when it arrives :)

I've seen the same thing happen many times, only see updates from the large USPS facilities and not the local post office.  I live in remote northern MN and the last update I usually get on USPS shipments is when it arrives in Minneapolis or Duluth.  Better clear the snow off your drone landing pad!

Another Iowa boy here.  It's not negative temps, but it's still below freezing.  I actually had to run out in shorts and barefoot before one of the hWhat ousehold members ran over my package that Fedex left in the driveway.  :o

What part of Iowa?

When I lived up in Badger I wouldn't even look at the tracker because it was useless lol.

I have had a lot of issues with amazon tracking, including getting an email saying "your delivery has been rescheduled at your request" but when I contacted them that was the first they had heard of it.

I have also had issues with delivery drivers just not attempting to make a delivery when the address is for my work and we get delivery's multiple times a day.

The whole "before 8" thing is a dumb, that's just a rough estimate based on how late most courier companies work.  When you order from Amazon enough, you know exactly when your courier trucks arrive.  For example, the UPS guy usually comes around at 3-4, the USPS package delivery usually comes in the late morning or late afternoon, the ONTRAC guys come really early, or really late (like 7-8pm), and same-day delivery dudes in their Honda civics normally come by 9 or 10.  This varies by location, I suspect your package just got delayed at a spot and Amazon isn't smart enough to tell you that if it isn't out for delivery that morning, it's probably not getting to you.

I got an Amazon order that arrived today that was split into two deliveries, one by Fedex and one by UPS.  UPS usually arrives at 8AM and Fedex at 1PM.  I was surprised when both arrived at the same time, and being drunk, kind of wondered if they were going to get into a fist fight. :D
