the mmo that has all of that is WoW

I'm looking for an mmorpg with a huge world, lots of quests to do as a group or individual, weapon crafting, so basically something similar to sao

Edit: the weapon crafting isnt so improtant

if you dont like WoW there is ESO and newest and most notable blade and soul if that scratches your ear

Currently game that's closest to an "ideal MMORPG" would be FF14. Some people don't like it because it's a tab click game instead of action combat, but most RPGs are tab click anyway.

FF14 doesn't add anything new to the table in the MMORPG market, they got everything that is fun about old MMORPGs and then they refined it into a modern package.

It pretty much checked every single requirement for me, large maps, classes and jobs, mounts, player housing, guilds(free companies), dungeons, and large raids. All in a pretty looking, modern game.

Guild Wars 2 is quite fun, and the classic World of Warcraft if that tickles your fancy. There's some free to play ones out there like Rift and Terra but they seems to be pay to win (don't quote me on that because I never really play them, but at a glance they seem like they are)

C9: Continent of the Ninth Seal is the only MMO I'd ever even consider recommending. Pretty much the only one that isn't a copy-pasta WoW clone

Normally I would suggest WoW but unless you're completely new to the game there is almost nothing interesting to do until the next expansion launches this summer.

I've recently been getting more into SW:TOR as they seem to have refined the story mode and levelling system to be much more enjoyable, making it so you can level off of your class quests alone rather than having to complete every quest in a given area in order to level up enough to move on.  Honestly my favorite thing about swtor is the story but it still offers flashpoints (dungeons), raids, pvp, starship missions, starship battles (a much more in depth version of the starship missions and they're actually multiplayer), and even player housing now.  It's got huge worlds like you asked for but even the bonus quests are somewhat few and far between depending on what planet you're on.  What it does have are plenty of "Heroic" quests (group quests) that can be completed weekly if you so choose, and depending on what server you choose the population is still pretty damn decent.

Wildstar might be worth a look now that it's f2p but I didn't stick with it for too long, and I would say the same for Guild Wars 2, not my type of mmo but definitely worth a look.

I have tried nearly all of them and WoW is still the best. Everyone likes to talk shit about the game, including myself, but you don't quite realize how amazing the game is until you step away and view the competing titles.

I've been playing Blade and Soul - and it's good. It's still not WoW, though. I think the new content is what really has me interested. I am not enticed in the lore - otherwise I'd be hooked. While the combat is action RPG style, it still isn't as good as WoW. You literally always know what you need to be doing next, which is really nice.

If you've played the piss out of WoW then you've likely done everything there is to do in the game - which it feels like I've done. Which drastically brings down the overall enjoyment of any game. I like to PVP so there is a ton of replayability there and I still haven't found an MMO that seems as balanced and rewarding as WoW PVP. There is just a premeditated action or reaction for everything - and mastering and predicting these moves feels really good.

SWTOR combat just feels clunky to me. Feels like I'm playing Morrowind or something equally clunky. If SWTOR had more fluid combat I think it would have a place in my heart.

WoW is also free for me, due to buying time with gold. And a subscription based title >>>> micro transactions and P2W structures any day of the week. I'd rather pay for a game then to feel gypped out of content because I can't justify paying for cosmetics or power upgrades.

Yeah SWTORs combat isn't very good, it's okay at best but thankfully the story makes up for it, or at least for me it does. The problem isn't just that it's clunky though, some classes just feel really lacking when it comes to what you can do.
